ROCKVILLE, MD.  APRIL 01, 2019 – Executives from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science & Technology Directorate, AT&T, Bombardier, the National Retail Federation (NRF), and five other organizations have joined the DC5G 2019 advisory board. These representatives will collaborate with the DC5G team to create a high-level, executive-caliber, hype-free conference program that focuses intensely on ensuring the implementation of 5G wireless connectivity. DC5G 2019 will take place November 4-5, 2019 at The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia.

“When DC5G was launched in 2017, it was at the request of the community and with the purpose of knocking down the silos to bring together a group of 5G-invested communities for a more holistic conversation,” says Jeffrey Hill, DC5G Chairman. “After two successful years, we’ve built a reputation as the event where you’ll find objective, problem-solving discussions, and this year we’re forging ahead by tackling 5G infrastructure, investment, smart communities. We are proud to welcome this group of individuals to our Advisory Board to help build the 2019 DC5G program.”

Head of Strategic Communications Daniel Conway will represent the DHS Science & Technology Directorate on the DC5G 2019 advisory board. DHS has agreed to collaborate with DC5G to develop topics for the program, and assist with outreach to other government agencies, speakers and attendees. The Science & Technology Directorate is the research and development arm of DHS. The organization partners with industry groups to enhance technology capabilities in areas such as emergency response, UAS, and infrastructure protection. Conway said that DHS S&T looks forward to providing DC5G 2019 with, “sharp insights on how 5G capabilities will change our communities and security operations.”

David Orloff, Director of AT&T’s RAN Product Introduction Group, will join Conway on the DC5G 2019 advisory board. Orloff, a former Chair of the Small Cell Forum, is responsible for delivery of RAN Infrastructure products and functionality including Macrocells, Consumer Femtocells, Outdoor and Indoor Metrocells, and Mutli-Standard Metrocells. He supports the strategic direction for new technology and novel network implementations managing the vendor relationships for product introduction into the AT&T network.

DC5G 2019 also welcomes Karl Reichelt, Head of P3 for Bombardier, as a new advisory board member. Reichelt is a recognized leader in the Public Private Partnership (P3) sector having won five major US greenfield infrastructure projects valued at more than $11 billion, including three of the six largest in American history. He has served in multiple appointments for a state Governor and a U.S. President.

Other new additions to the DC5G advisory board include: National Retail Federation Senior Director of Digital Retail Jill Dvorak; and Eisenhower Fellow, entrepreneur, and former Discovery Inc. executive Adam Zuckermann. DC5G 2018 Advisory Board members Chelsea Collier (Digi.City), Andy Maxymillian (Government Wireless Technology and Communications Association), Rikin Thakker (Multicultural Media, Telecom and Internet Council), and Jill Canfield (NTCA) will return to the board in 2019.
